June 4th, we had our latest ultrasound, but we never updated the site. (We’ve been a bit lax in that, lately.) Anyway, Perrin is doing well, and is still measuring 2 weeks ahead. That’s pretty exciting, since it means that it is more likely that he will be born in July. Anyway, on with the pictures.
He’s kind of smushed between the placenta and the wall of the womb, but you can still see his features here.
Same thing from a different view, but I like this one because you can really see his nose and mouth really well. Also, with the way that his face is obscured, it reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera.
He just looks like he is sleeping between two pillows. Don’t let these images fool you, he’s an active little bugger.
He’s still breech, and hopefully he will turn around soon, but in any case, he’s healthy and doing well, and we can’t wait to see him.
Today we had a size and date ultrasound to make sure Perrin was on track. I had a doctors appointment earlier in the week and I was measuring 3 weeks earlier then my due date, so she wanted to make sure everything was going according to plan.
We had a really nice tech that worked really hard at getting some good pictures. Perrin, as usual, was being shy and facing towards my back. I had to lay on my side a couple of times to get him to move. She confirmed that Perrin was indeed a boy (Woo H00!) and that he was growing right on track. The doctor came in at the end and told us everything was fine but I had slightly lower fluid then they like. Nothing to be worried about, but I just need to increase my water intake. So now instead of 2L I have to try to drink 3-4L: no biggie. The doctor wants to see me back in a month for another ultrasound, just to make sure everything is still going smoothly. I am the luckiest momma to be able to see my baby so much while he is in the womb.
I am so glad everything is going to well and that in just a few short months I will get to see him in person.
Tomorrow we find out Peanut’s sex. Jason and I, along with the grandmas and great grandma, will make the trek to see our little Peanut. I don’t think I have ever been so excited since we found out we were expecting. Hopefully Peanut will cooperate. I have no clue what I want more, but I know I want a healthy baby. I have been trying to imagine our Peanut running around the house, but when I have these images it changes every time. Luckily, if all goes right, tomorrow we will find out if it is a Boy or a Girl.
Jason- Boy Bionca- Boy
We made our guess, what are yours? Leave a comment with your guess and we will see tomorrow who is correct.
Today we had our 14 week ultrasound. Jason had to spend the day in the ER, so Grandma Lois came with me to get a look at the baby. It’s amazing how Peanut has grown in just these past 3 weeks. We tried to get some video but the tech claimed that it would be a HIPAA violation and wouldn’t let us get any shots.
Peanut is measuring at 15 weeks, so we might be having a big baby. The heartbeat was nice and strong, 162 bpm. Peanut was sleeping most of the time. He was sitting Indian style and we could see his little toes, so cute. The most amazing thing was when we were trying to wake Peanut and he did a BIG stretch and streched out his arms and opened his hands like he was waving at as. He was wiggling his fingers and trying to left himself up to stretch out even more. It was so incredible, Mom and I kept crying.
I am so thankful to have such wonderful in-laws. It has been a true blessing to have Mom Lois share this experince with me when Jason could not. I will forever be greatful.
My jeans have been getting smaller and smaller (I was using a hair tie to keep them together). I have been feeling very sad about getting fat (I know it’s not getting “fat”, but getting baby). As a girl who has struggled with my weight all my life, this pregnancy has really played with my emotions about getting bigger.
So, today I went to the mall to try to find some jeans for my new body. I first went to JCPenny and tried on a few pair but wasn’t impressed with the selection or how they looked on. So, I moved on to Motherhood. I was so excited when I walked in the store and I saw they had a Plus size section. I was positive that I was going to need to order on line. The ladies in there were so super nice and were happy to help me without being pushy, a big plus! They pulled a few styles from both the regular and plus sizes just to see. I went in to the fitting room with pretty low expectations but was willing to give it a shot. I tried on the regular size jeans first, and wow, did they fit great! I was so happy. They looked so good on and made my butt look great, a must for a good pair of jeans. Next, I tried on the plus jeans. They were too big! I felt skinny for the first time in like, forever! I tried on other styles but none fit as nice as the first pair. I just had to get them.
So, now I have a new jeans. A pair that don’t make me feel fat. A pair that as Peanut grows, my pants will accommodate my ever expanding belly. Who knew that jeans made for women whose wastes are expanding daily could make me feel so good?
